The Republic of Mozambique in south east africa has about 29 million inhabitans on over 800.000 km².

Zambézia with its capital Quelimane is one of the northern provinces. It has more than 5 million inhabitants and is devided in 16 districts, one of which is Ile.

Most of Ile’s population live from agriculture. The official language in the whole of Mozambique is Portuguese, but the most commonly spoken language in Ile is Lomwe.
