About us:
My name is Elena Muatocuene. In 2003 after graduating from high school I visited Mozambique for the very first time. Since then, I have been talking about emigrating there myself. As an engineer I know how lucky I have been to be able to educate myself. With such an education I am able to work in fields I not only am equipped for but also enjoy. And as a Christian I am grateful to have free access to the Word of God and have been able to read in the Bible myself since childhood. This is what I also want for the children and youths of Ile, that they themselves would be equipped to find the answers to the most important questions of life.
My name is Filipe Muatocuene, I´m a Christian and an educator. I was born and raised in Mozambique but have been living in Germany since 2012. Even while I was still living in Mozambique, I worked a lot with children and youths. Especially at our church but also within the youth parlament.
My friends, family and church community in Germany have given a lot of humanitarian aid to Mozambicans. But we realized that a lot more support was needed. And so, we thought about how we could help long term. What would make a great impact? The answer we found was clear: providing a good education! We believe that a good education is the key in achieving long term change and prosperity.
My name is Philip and I am a teacher at a Christian school in Bielefeld. I am married and we have 2 happy children. As a teacher I know the impact school can have in the lives of young people-it can be very positive, but also negative. This influence can shape one´s entire life. And for that reason, I´m excited about founding a school in Mozambique and hope that through this school the children will be shaped in a positive way, that they will become well educated and learn all about Christian values with which in result they may shape their own lives in a positive manner.
My name is Eva and I have been friends with Elena since we were little girls. Ever since her voluntary social year in Mozambique she has been wanting to emigrate. That is how I became a part of the organization LIWOMOZ. In founding this school, the girls’ education has become particularly important to me as they are the pillars of every society.
My name is Edgar and I live in Paderborn. I am happily married and have 3 wonderful children. Professionally I work in machine engineering but outside of work I lead a very active lifestyle including sports and family activities. I have been apart of LIWOMOZ since its establishment, as it is my ambition to help children in Ile and also create a better future for them.
My name is Jessica Fröse, I am married and have 3 children. If children in Ile, Mozambique still do not go to school without exception and cannot even afford one warm meal a day, then it is close to my heart to help the children through LIWOMOZ within the scope of my possibilities.
My name is Edwin Boschmann and I’m from Karlsruhe. I love the big wide world and all its diversity. I´ve worked as an agriculturist, a pastor and missionary. Currently I´ve been working as a janitor while voluntarily active on multiple boards. After living in Ile, Mozambique for 6 years with my family it has become my deepest wish to help the people there in an effective way.
My name is Olga and my connection to LIWOMOZ is my longstanding friendship with the Muatocuene family. Many years ago, Elena and I used to live together in Paderborn. We would always talk about her plans for Mozambique. Later on, I was allowed to be present at Muatocuene´s engagement in Ile and saw the destitution of the children there with my own eyes.I myself come from Russia, and I have worked as a technical consultant in many countries. My husband and I are currently serving as missionaries in Central Asia.
